AltPE
If you haven't found the right image correction tool right now, the freeware AltPE could be worth a try. The program supports the most common image file types including JPEG2000 and allows to change brightness, contrast settings, image size and rotation. Besides this a few effect filters can be found like emboss, pattern or spray. AltPE comes with a clear menue design and is ideal for beginners.
